Important Communication From Lunch Program
Dear ICS Families:

While the federal government funded a program that allowed all students access to free meals during the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress recently declined to continue funding this program. Imlay City Schools will continue to offer breakfast free to all students. However, we will need to return to offering lunches for a cost in order to sustain our Food Services program.

We understand this change may cause you to worry. However, there are important steps you can take NOW to be sure your student receives the meals they need this school year.

If your student qualifies for free or reduced meals, they can still receive them this fall, but you must take action to make it happen. Please complete the online application at https://bit.ly/LunchApplications. Paper applications have also been sent home and are available at the school where your child attends. Completing an application is the only way to be considered for free or reduced meals for the upcoming school year. Please take action now.

If you do not qualify for free or reduced meals, you may begin depositing money into student accounts at any time to prepare for the cost of school lunches this year.

Meal prices for the 2022/23 school year will be:
Elementary $2.85
Middle School $3.15
High School $3.25

If your household qualifies for reduced priced meals, there will be no charge for the meal. Imlay City Schools Food Service Department accepts responsibility for the cost of reduced meals.

Important Communication
Due to construction at the ICS Educational Service Center, located at 634 W. Borland Rd., central office staff and business office staff will be relocating to the High School Maker's Space.
While moving furniture and technology, the office will not be open on Friday, June 10 or Monday, June 13. However, central office normal hours will resume, at ICHS, beginning on Tuesday, June 14.
If you have summer business needs, the south entrance of the high school (by the art room) will be the entry point. All phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.
Currently, the goal is for construction to be completed and staff moved back into the business offices at the Educational Service Center before students return to school.

ICS Safety Committee
At Imlay City Schools, we continue to place the safety of our students and staff as our highest priority. It is with this in mind that we have established a Safety Committee, beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, comprised of ICS Administrators, staff, and parent representatives. Our goal for the committee is to meet quarterly to examine school safety processes and protocols and to provide information about safety-related programs in the schools.

Online Payment System

Imlay City Schools uses My School Bucks to provide families an opportunity to conveniently make deposits, view balances, and see the activity of their student’s lunch account(s). You may make deposits to your student’s account by using this online system. Visit My School Bucks directly at www.myschoolbucks.com or access it through the ‘Parents’ section of our website at www.icschools.us . There is a $2.75 fee per transaction. You may place funds into more than one account within a single transaction and there is no limit on the deposit amount. The Imlay City School district does not receive any portion of this transaction fee. The transaction fee is charged by My School Bucks and their processing company; Heartland, for using their service.

Substitute Teachers Needed


Imlay City Schools is looking for substitute teachers! Pay is $100.00 per day and your day includes FREE lunch and FREE childcare (for children ages 2 years 6 months (must be potty trained) - fifth grade.
